wvdial | kernel_panic | perl_error
Hi guys,
I have several questions - please help me.
First:
Root can start wvdial but all other users get the error:
$ wvdial
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.53
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyS0: Permission denied
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyS0: Permission denied
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyS0: Permission denied
But all this users belongs to the group tty.
Any idea?
Second:
When I boot my new build kernel I get the error:
[...]
read_super_block: can't find a reiserfs filesystem on (dev 01:00, block
64, size 1024)
read_super_block: can't find a reiserfs filesystem on (dev 01:00, block
8, size 1024)
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:42
But I have in my kernel the reiserfs-support (not as a modul!) under the
"file systems". Need I more?
What have I done wrong? And what do you think can *I* do?
And last but not least everytime I start applications or install
something I get this message:
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
*or*
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE = (unset),
LC_ALL = (unset),
LANG = "de_DE@euro"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
What can I do to fit the error-messages?
Thanks to everybody who helps me.
Thanks a lot.
Sebastian
P.S.:
I use Debian GNU/Linux called Woody with the Kernel 2.4.20
