Yes, of course, but I meant to say 'I use it for getting the Linux Desktop
on a windows computer.'

Well, I tried. Not everything worked out as expected.
I could do the following with ease:
  1. I could telnet to another machine, export its DISPLAY variable,
and get its X-apps to show up on the machine I was on.
(This has nothing to do with XDMCP, but still...)
  2. I could setup one of the machines to startup with just X started,
and have another Linux machine to show the kdm login prompt on it.
Effectively, I could setup an X-Terminal.

But the most interesting thing, I could NOT do:
I tried to have one machine show its own display manager screen
with a pull down menu to enable someone to logon to another computer
where I had suitably added lines in Xaccess (* CHOOSER BROADCAST)
to enable it to do this.
But this did not happen. I did not get any pull down menu.
I think I do not understand how to use the chooser program. Did not
find any clear usage indication about it in the HOWTOS.

I did try to manually run the chooser program on a machine after starting
X in it. I could get it to accept the address of the other machine,
but it gave me an error, something of the following sort:
"serverrh.jgec.ac.in willing but problem in /etc/X11/xdm/Xwilling"
(serverrh.jgec.ac.in is the machine I was trying to connect to).

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?
Any suggestions/comments/corrections ?

Regards,
Santanu
