I have a serious problem here.
My brother wants to get to know Debian Woody. He has a
Compaq Presario 1245 laptop on which Debian should be
installed. However, there is a big problem: he bought
the laptop a few years ago but he didn't get the
hardware specification. The computer was running
Windows which only knew to tell the drivers were
bought by Microsoft (you know, like they allways do in
Windows - calling everything microsoft plugin)
Is there a way to autodetect hardware ? I know
autodetection isn't the best, but I think we will
really need it.
