sitecom rs232 modem problems

I have bought an external RS232 sitecom modem and am having a terrible job 
getting it to work properly. Yep from boot up it can dial up and link AOK 
with dial on demand pon but after that, when the line drops it can not 
re-establish, it tries, the RS TR lights come on but it don't dial

I have tried loads of combinations of crtscts, cdtrcts,local,modem,xonxoff 
for ppp nothing sorts it. I have to poff de-power the modem, re-power it and 
pon to get it to dial again.

Unfortunatley works fine in windows so cant claim it is faulty!

If anyone has successfully setup this modem pls let me know how you did it !!
