Is it possibe to receive fax with a DSL modem?

I still have the old fax modem card in the computer but only software 
for Windows.  
There is a separate phone line.
Can I use both?  If so, has anyone made a ZOOM modem work with Debian Woody?
Any way to use the DSL modem?
