Here's potentially the problem.
I checked in inetd.conf and there is no entry for 'mail', 'smtp', 'exim', or
the like. I tried 'dpkg-reconfigure netkit-inetd' and that didn't solve the
problem. One note, I am using exim-tls rather than exim, is that possibly
somehow an issue? (Again, it works fine when I use '/etc/init.d/exim start',
but yes I would rather have it through inetd if that's default).
