Get the image of Eduard Bloch's last known functioning LVM and RAID
extdisk:
http://people.debian.org/~blade/install/lvm/old/lar1440.bin
Write it to a floppy.
Boot with the rescue and root floppies from the woody bf2.4 set.
Put the extdisk floppy in the drive.
Open a console with Alt-F2 and type
extdisk /dev/fd0
Presto, LVM and RAID support for installation and rescue of woody.
