finally got gnome 1.4 installed, but...
some things seem to be a bit.. quirky...
That annoying menu bar at the top of the screen..
how do I make it go away?
I can play sound files but... I don't hear
anything. I think I need to turn up the valume
but.. where is the volume??
is there a way to check my current screen
resolution while gnome is running?
I notice that when gdm loads it does not read
.xsession not .xinitrc. Well, what does it read?
What the hec is gnome-commander and how do I run
it?
The packages I've installed thus far are:
gnome-session
gnome-panel
gnome-core
gnome-panel-data
gnome-bin
gnome-commander
gnome-audio
gnome-control-center
gnome-games
are there any others I might be interested in?
perhaps something that installs applications or
utilities?
Thanks!
Jim
