I can not get the sound chip on my motherboard to work. I can modprobe ac_97codec and it will install the correct drivers(sound sound-core trident). However, no sound comes out the speakers. I have also tried using ALSA. Still no sound. Everytime I boot in to KDE, it says CPU overload Artsmessage. Any help would be appreciated. TIA!
