fontprob
Hi all,
I have an X app, which doesn't want to start since it's missing a
font at me.
utadtnms1.dtnms.sys.uta.at:/home/noc> /usr/local/gams/dtnms/cmds/dtnms.console
font "-dt-application-bold-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1" doesn't exist
while executing
[...]
utadtnms1.dtnms.sys.uta.at:/home/noc>
I have couple of fonts.alias files:
marvin:/home/charlie# locate .alias | grep font
/etc/X11/fonts/100dpi/xfonts-100dpi.alias
/etc/X11/fonts/misc/xfonts-base.alias
/etc/X11/fonts/Type1/gsfonts-x11.alias
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/fonts.alias
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/fonts.alias
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic/fonts.alias
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/fonts.alias.update-new
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/fonts.alias
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/fonts.alias
marvin:/home/charlie#
But I don't really know how to alias one font to another.
and of course i dont have this -dt- font:
marvin:/home/charlie# xlsfonts | grep dt
marvin:/home/charlie#
I also don't know to which font should I alias it to, since this
is a 120 dpi font ... i thought to a 100 dpi one, but which one?
marvin:/home/charlie# xlsfonts | wc -l
5648
marvin:/home/charlie#
marvin:/home/charlie# dpkg -l | grep fonts
ii console-data 1999.08.29-24 Keymaps, fonts, charset maps, fallback table
ii gsfonts 6.0-2.1 Fonts for the ghostscript interpreter
ii gsfonts-x11 0.16 Make Ghostscript fonts available to X11.
ii xfonts-100dpi 4.1.0-16 100 dpi fonts for X
ii xfonts-base 4.1.0-16 standard fonts for X
ii xfonts-scalabl 4.1.0-16 scalable fonts for X
marvin:/home/charlie#
any help is appreciated.
