I put a PCI add-on controller in one of my older systems to allow for
more IDE devices. I haven't tried it with a drive > 137GB but it is an
ATA-133 controller and seen by the stock Debian 2.4.20 kernel:
CMD680: chipset revision 2
CMD680: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
ide2: BM-DMA at 0x1010-0x1017, BIOS settings: hde:pio, hdf:pio
ide3: BM-DMA at 0x1018-0x101f, BIOS settings: hdg:pio, hdh:pio
The board is:
UltraATA 133 PCI (P/N: SC-PE4B12)
