Cd destroyed in cd drive

I wonder whether it's only a matter of centrifugal force. My guess
-- & it's only a guess -- is that the failed disk was warped or
misaligned. If it jammed, torque would finish the job.
And the higher the speed the more likely that a disk will flutter &
jump the track.
