Wicked compilation problem

Hi!
I'm getting an error at (somewhat) random times when compiling stuff on my machine. For example when I compile my kernel:

gcc -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -o scripts/mkdep scripts/mkdep.c
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11

Also when making menuconfig the first time it gave me that error. The second time was ok. With the above example it doesn't help to try again though...

Any clue on what's wrong is appreciated!

/johan
