1. Your ISP require pppoe?
2. Do your adsl provider use DHCP ?

if 1 == true

remove the configuration of your internet interface
apt-get install pppoeconf
type as root:
pppoeconf

if 2 == true && 1 == false

edit your /etc/network/interfaces like
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

else

explain better
