| You cant, the glibc upgrade means you need a jdk >= 1.4.1
The blackdown people fixed the stupidity in 1.3. The latest release
of it works with glibc 2.3.
$ dpkg -l libc6 j2sdk1.3 j2sdk1.4
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii libc6 2.3.1-9 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone
ii j2sdk1.3 1.3.1.02b-2 Blackdown Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition
ii j2sdk1.4 1.4.0.99beta-1 Blackdown Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition
$ # I'm hoping to show that the link error doesn't occur with this build,
$ # but I'm not sure what it takes to trigger it in the bad build
$ java-1.3 -version
java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build Blackdown-1.3.1-02b-FCS)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build Blackdown-1.3.1_02b-FCS, mixed mode)
(BTW, the "java-1.3" command is a trivial shell script I have so it is
easy to run a specific version of java)
