Subject: Making a java 1.4.1 deb

You might find usefull information here on how one can
build a deb package:
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/

The package checkinstall might be usefull too if you don't
want to build the deb package.

You can also install the package alien to convert rpm's into
deb so you can then grab the rpm form sun's site, convert
it to .deb and install it.

The reason why there aren't any deb files is that sun's
java isn't 100% free.
For more info on java and debian:
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-java-faq/

This info should set you on your way.
