Re: X Windows and Gnome Problem - HELP!!
Thanks for your help. I still have the problem of my mouse being disabled. I
have tried using a serial mouse and a PS/2 mouse but neither of them work.
When i use xf86config, i have tried using various device names for the mouse
such as /dev/mouse, /dev/tty00, /dev/tty01, and /dev/psaux but none of them
work. Any suggestions?

If you want to avoid getting into X at boot time, you can edit
/etc/inittab and set the line containing “initdefault” to this:
id:3:initdefault:
This will ensure you enter multiuser text mode when you reboot.
