Run eximconfig and choose the smarthost option. This works for
non-authenticated SMTP smart hosts.
Now, go read /etc/exim/exim.conf and search for the keyword 'auth' and
you will see instructions for what to do to use an authenticated SMTP
smarthost.
I have never used this option, but really it does look very straight
forward. Give it a try.
