Personal choice, I got a PCI bus internal modem (U.S. Robotics model
3CP5610A), because I didn't have space for another appliance or wall
brick.
The danger is that you can end up with a Winmodem if not careful. Look
for compatability with DOS, or especially Linux ;). Another keyword is
"controller-based"
