phpnuke problems

I have setup phpnuke to act as a small site for my home network.
When I access this site from my konqueror browser (on two separate machines)
it works fine.
When I access it via Windows/IE on one machine it works fine, but when I try
it on another Windows/IE I get the home page alright, but when I try and
follow links it says "Sorry, you can't access this file directly..."
There is lots of references to this error message for everybody accessing a
site, but I can't find any reason for a browser problem to cause this.
