apt failure - help needed

Hi all,
today after running apt-get update occured lots of error messages:
Fetched 59.7kB in 29s (2022B/s)
Reading Package Lists... Error!
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occured while processing dxftp (NewPackage)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

I tried to download apt and apt-utils (both are version 0.5.4) and
install them via dpkg, but without any success.

I am running unstable
Please, can you help me??
