StarOffice 6.0 & Kde 3.0.3

Hi,
I am using StarOffice 6.0 (German version) on an up to date woody system, the
StarOffice patch 112887-02 is installed.
When I try to insert a "special character" (=Sonderzeichen in german) in
StarOffice, then kde (3.0.3) crashes and I am back at the login prompt.
Has anybody experienced the same behavior or has any ideas what the problem
is ?
