It's probably just compiled into the kernel.

Yes, it implements Unix-domain sockets. If you don't notice a problem
don't worry about it, though: it'll either be built-in or automatically
loaded as needed. I doubt we've ever shipped a kernel that was missing
Unix-domain sockets altogether.
