RE: More stuff in dmesg - I would like to supress but am not sure how
MTRR is to do with the CPU. Memory type something register (can't remember
the full name). I too mistakenly installed it into my kernel tree and get
that message coming up at every boot up. I'll get rid of it when I go to
the 2.4,20 kernel tree :<)

The easiest way to supress all that is to get a new kernel. I didn't
notice any of that with the 2.4 deb that I'm using, but I didn't check.
The one way to be certain that none of that non-present hardware stuff
shows up is to compile your own kernel.
