kernel-image-2.4.19-2-686 not installing properly

Hi folks.

I'm new here, so appologies first of all if this goes to the wrong
list.. :)

I tried doing a apt-get dist-upgrade yesterday on my woody system.
apt nicely downloads and tries to install a kernel upgrade for my system
(kernel 2.4.19-2), but has problems when installing it.

Output from apt:

The filesystem already has a journal.
run-parts: /etc/mkinitrd/scripts/e2fsprogs exited with return code 1
Failed to create initrd image.
dpkg: error processing kernel-image-2.4.19-686 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 29

Well, the journal "error" is to be expected, but not being able to
create the initrd just isn't nice.. :)

Problem is, I'm left with an empty initrd image file as well, ie. my old
2.4.19-1 image is overwritten with 0 bytes.. Ouch!

Luckily I kept an old kernel in a separate file which I'm able to boot
from, so I can live with that for a while until I get this sorted.

Anyone had the same problem already?

Cheers!
