yes, but not in that configuration

both samba and samba-tng have native LDAP support(samba-tng's is more
mature). I have a HOWTO for LDAP, as well as PAM-LDAP/NSS-LDAP, samba-tng
basically most everything you need to get this working including password
synchronization:
