It depends on your monitor, I guess; some of them have buttons that can
show you the current refresh rate.
If you want to set X to drive your monitor at your preferred refresh
rate, you can try this one: http://www.zaph.com/Modeline/ (or go to
Google, and enter "modelines calculator"). Ain't Internet great...?
BTW, make sure that your monitor could handle the refresh rates you'd
define.
