Hi,
why do you want to switch over to exim ... install
sendmail and use it
like you are used to.
To setup sendmail see

/etc/mail/
sendmail.mc
submit.mc

Thanks for the reply Oliver, i had done a minimal .iso
install and didn't have fetchmail or mutt installed
only exim and sendmail and apt-get wasn't working
properly, it is now, and i wanted to send mail, that
is why the 'limitations' and command line search
question,... 

when i did 'man sendmail' (to see if i was forgetting
something, in my failed attempts)the only man page i
recieved was exim with numerous pages about various
switches, (i have never used exim) i though this may
be a debian standard so i thought i would ask,...
