Greetings Mariano:
I empathise with you. You have several options. Tom's root boot is one, but
before you fetch it, you might want to try this:
- -Turn on computer
- -as soon as you see Lilo prompt, press: SHIFT then TAB key
(that should stop lilo and let you start in init 1 run level)
- -at the prompt type: linux init 1
- -enter root password at prompt (remember, your will be in init 1)
Now you can search which *dm is installed in /etc/init.d/~ then use dpkg or
apt-get to remove it. Once it is removed, you can start up in init 2 (normal
mode) with the command 'init 2' at the root prompt. Write back if you need
additional help.
You might have to be fast on the SHIFT and TAB keys if you don't have a
prompt delay set.
