Problems with solid-pop3d

Hey guys, I've been having some problems recently with solid-pop3d and
people popping their mail from our mail server.  I am getting the follow
error in the /var/log/messages
Sep 13 19:16:33 lovecraft solid-pop3d[24046]: auth: no shadow password
handling compiled in server
Sep 13 19:16:33 lovecraft solid-pop3d[24044]: authentication failed for
user stealth

I get this for every user that uses pop.  Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running the newest version of solid-pop3 with debian woody and
2.4.18.
