Re: driver configuration (sound)
Chris,
Thanks for the info. I used apt-get to install kernel-image-2.2.20 and then
2.2.20-idepci. Neither one seemed to have the sound drivers. Got lots of
warning messages when I installed the idepci one, then it seemed as though I
couldn't go back to the original one. (You can tell I'm not sure what I was
doing here!) Good experience, though. I figured I would re-install anyway,
which I did last night. I used the vanilla kernel as you suggested, and now
I have the es1370 driver! Still no sound, though. I'm getting a message:
Error while initializing sound driver device /dev/dsp can't be opened
(permission denied)
Any thoughts? Will search for this in documentation...
Thanks,
Peter Christensen
