Incorrect segment count

Hi,
I have difficulties when I try to create with dd a large file (20 Gbyte).I
have installed Debian woody r3,
and compiled a new kernel with SMP (2.4.18 #1 SMP) and have a 170Gb raid5
/dev/sdb1 device formatted as ext3...
I get the following error :
