matches the level of your citation.

Larry,

Karsten is referencing RFC1855, http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1855.html,
and its application to the common practices in use on this mailing list.
Post fixing replies is the de facto standard here.

While it may seem nonintuitive at first, once you get used to it, you'll
understand why prefixing replies screws up attributions and
comprehensibility.  In this reply, I've re-ordered and edited to comply
with local mores.  Notice how the level of quoting matches the quote
level of the person being replied to.  Plus, the remarks are in chron
order so that you can scan down to get the gist of the thread before
reading the present post.  (Which is why editing is critical.)

Don't take offense.  Think of it as one of those 'when in Rome' things.
