Installing debian on a ATA 100 disk

Hi,

I'm trying to install debian on my pc, but the installation program doesn't detect my disk, an ATA 100 on /dev/hde... how can i make the installation program detect my hard drive? (i'm installing woody through cd-rom)

please answer asap because i'm stoped without linux, and i would really like to put debian on my machine instead of another distro...

I'm not on the list, so please cc to me...

Thank you for any help,
Nuno Afonso
