yeah but it usually means you need a debianized version of
the patch. and if the patch requires input to take effect it's
not the greatest, last time i tried it the system ran the patch
after i configured the kernel, preventing me from configuring
the new options that the patch made.
so i just patch by hand ..even if the patch is debianized i
extract the patch(usually bzipped) and run it manually before
configuring the kernel.
