I am also having the same problem, I am trying to solve it since last
15 days, I downloaded the drivers from intel website, then compiled
the agpgart module myself, then did as told in its readme. But no
luck, then compiled the kernel with framebuffer and AGP, i810 support
but still I cannt run X. Check out the posts 1 week or 2 back for the
details. (Subjecs were: xfree 3.3.6 + agpgat !=i810, & (Solved,but) my
custom kernel doesnt boot )

I really hope some one on this list helps us out with this one.
