I didn't see any answers to this that mention the famous "magic jumper", so
I will.  There's a jumper near the end of the AGP slot. If you use 2 DDR's,
and maybe even if you only use one, you have to move the jumper.  I once saw
a suggestion that you should remove it entirely, but I don't know if that's
correct.  You probably do have to move it from the default position.  Do a
web search for "magic jumper" and either Asus or A7A266 for more
information.
