I forgot to mention it in my first mail, but I ran

dselect update
apt-get dist-upgrade

as root on a system that already had Debian Woody on it (just wanted to
get the latest security fixes.) However, "dselect update" didn't update
the APT database.

Is there any other way to fix this strange behavior?
