well i deleted all the previous links to deb files in my sources list and put in the 2 listed under the testing section, this worked for the most part however it tells me 'x-window-system-core' is missing ?!?!
Don't know fer shure, but I'd recommend you run dselect and do an Update, then Install.
My understanding is that woody doesn't have a security link yet; that's part of the Stable branch. Security updates get back ported to Stable, and get put into the "core" part of Testing. Once Testing (woody) moves to Stable, then it'll have a security update link. So if you want to track security updates but you don't want to upgrade packages, (or if you just want to cover the bases), you can add the security link for Stable to your woody source list. Perhaps someone else can verify/correct m understanding/explanation if necessary.also could someone list the security update link in the sources list for woody? btw if it matters aptitude and tasksel was reporting it missing and wouldnt istall a basic x system so, if your curious where it was coming from, it just reports it missing or non existant
