Re: does debian really suck this much? -- nope
hi ya
most all of the "installation" probablems will be the same
for most any of the distro...
because you have the same hardware...
- same nic problems
- same x11 server problems
- same modem problems
- ...
- every distro has their own installer ... that works for the most
part .... smetimes you need to be able to bend over a little
to give it a helping hand to get over the new hardware or
old hardware it doesnt know about...
most all of the distro's have their own mailing list..
- you;ll have the same problems there....
- some people answer questions directrly or round-about
- others will answer privately...
-
- support you get will typically be dependent upon how much
info and effor you put into the question you post for getting
answers
- flaming the feeding hand will not help ya either... :-)
-- you mght not get a fully fucntional/working system in 1hr...
and if you're not willing to work thru the headaches to get
it running ... its gonna be very frustrating regardless of
which distro ... including the "other giant one" in WA that will
do all its magic for you... and still might not work either...
== it doesnt matter which distro .. which mailing list...
