Yeah, odd. Start a term from ~/.xsession or ~/.gnomerc. In that term run 'gnome-control-center' (or gnomecc). Then (re)select sawfish. It should start then, and next time as well. | 2] gnome-panel tries to start, then exits, I presume because of twm? Try running 'strace gnome-session 2>/tmp/gnome-strace-log' from ~/.xsession. I don't know why your panel dies. | 3] click to focus doesn't work, or works wierdly This is a window manager issue, not a gnome one. Which WM has this problem? | 4] alt-tab doesn't do anything.. Ditto. Check the key bindings in your WM. Personally I can not use gnome2. None of the gnome2 apps will actually run (I've tried gnome-terminal and yelp). They hang in a call to poll(). Presumably it is some corba related problem. The gnome2 control center is absolutely useless -- it has nothing in it to configure. (I mean absolutely nothing, not "nothing useful") It also looks like the panel is still version 1.4 in sid. However, sawfish 1.1 works very well with gnome 1.4 (except for the lack of wrap-around when cycling through workspaces). HTH, -D -- A)bort, R)etry, D)o it right this time http://dman.ddts.net/~dman/
