That reminds me of the time a friend asked me to take a look at his
computer.  He had taken it to some local shop and had some more memory
put in.  Afterwards, his floppy drive didn't work.  The people from
the shop told him the new memory was incompatible with it, or
something like that.

I opened it up, and once I got past the shell (it was a really odd
case), I saw that there was no ribbon cable in there for connecting
the floppy.  I happend to have some junk lying around at home, so I
grabbed a spare cable and hooked it up.  It worked right away.

(btw, that local shop is no longer in business)
