backup

  hello,
  I have installed one machine, and i have two hd's. 
  One hard drive is to backup the first one...
  I have mounted the second in /mnt. 
  How can i do this job? I do not want to use tar command, because i
want the two hard drives working. Do you understand? As in one fail over
system... if one hard drive go out, the another do the job.
  I did try with rdist, but do not work fine..

   Any idea?
