I'd strongly suggest building your mplayer from source. It's as easy as downloading a deb of it, but its optimized for your particular setup. Either download a tarball or get it from CVS, then from the "main" directory do, "fakeroot debian/rules binary" or if you don't have fakeroot installed, become root, and then do debian/rules binary. Once it's finished, dpkg -i pacakagename.deb and you're all set. -Alex
