Success! Installing Woody & re-arranging hardware...

I got my systems operational over the weekend. After much thought, I
decided not to swap video cards. Instead, I moved all my best hardware into
my new system where I now have a WindowsXP/Debian Woody installation
(windows has 2.5GB and Debian has 145GB) :) The other machine has all my
leftovers and is running a text-only installation of Debian. It's handling
my mail server (now Exim/QPopper instead of Qmail), website (Apache/PHP4),
print server and Samba file server (150GB of network storage). Kind of a
waste for a Voodoo3 3500 card...

Both ethernet cards I was running had problems during install. There were
no drivers and I couldn't get on the internet to download them. So, I went
to Staples and got 2 Netgear FA311's for $19 each. I setup my old P-100
Dell Latitude with Exim/Qpopper to handle incoming mail during the
down-time. Overall, the process took about 18 hours (10 of those were spent
trying to get Windows XP to work with Promise's stupid FastTrax TX4 card.
It's now in the trash since their drivers FOR XP don't work with xp and
there's no Linux drivers.) The Woody installation was flawless. I've heard
that it's not very user friendly, but I didn't think so. Not graphical, but
who cares when most of the work is done for you! :)

The only thing left to do is to get my nVidia card working. Hopefully
tonight...
