Hi,

I have a nvidia Geforce 3 running on Woody. I installed the drivers from
nvidia (www.nvidia.com). It is very stable. There is a general howto on
the nvidia site that works pretty well on woody (see
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_readme_install)

here is the operation summary:

°install (apt-get) the source (kernel-source-XXX) or headers
(kernel-headers-XXX) of your *running* kernel. Unzip and untar it in
/usr/src and make a symbolic link "linux" pointing to it. In case of you
use the source instead of the headers, you may need to "make menuconfig"
using the config file of your running kernel (/boot/config-XXX) followed
by a "make dep".

°download and untar NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2960.tar.bz2 and
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.tar.bz2 from nvidia site into /usr/src.
do a "make install" in both directroty. This will generate the
accelerated libGL.so and the NVdriver.

°in /etc/X11/XF86Config, add a line

	Load "glx"

and replace

	Driver "nv"
by

	Driver "nvidia"
