It's because there's a '-nolisten tcp' flag to your X server somewhere
in /etc/X11/

Nothing. You probably want to try 'ssh -X' the next time and check
/etc/ssh/sshd_config on the remote machine to make sure it allows X
forwarding. It's a much better way to do thing then xhost +
