You need to rely on DNS system.  For example IP=

$ dig
$ dig -x

BTW, if you can log into that machine, following maybe interesting.

$ ifconfig
$ route -n
$ hostname -f
$ uname -a
~\^o^/~~~ ~\^.^/~~~ ~\^*^/~~~ ~\^_^/~~~ ~\^+^/~~~ ~\^:^/~~~ ~\^v^/~~~ +++++
