hello
you got that solved?

as others pointed out, i don't want to open the access to the X server
and am trying the ssh solution.... without success so far....

here's my try:
ssh -A -X router
bboett@router:~$ xv
xv: Can't open display
bboett@router:~$ echo $DISPLAY

bboett@router:~$

so somehow the DISPLAY var wasn't set.... :(

on the router the ssh server was changed to
X11Forwarding yes
and the ssh server restarted (OpenSSH_3.0.2p1 Debian 1:3.0.2p1-8.3, SSH
  protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090603f
on the laptop, OpenSSH_3.0.2p1 Debian 1:3.0.2p1-9, SSH protocols
   1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090603f
    on the router... )

so if anyone has an idea....
