If I understand what you're asking, I _think_ you want ntpdate and ntpd
(both from the 'ntp' package).  These sync your system clock from a
network timeserver at boot (ntpdate), and can both keep your system
synced and/or sync other (slaved) systems to yours as your system runs
(ntpd).

If that's not it, clarify your question.
